Web Conference Summary, February 14, 2012

Dr. Atterway and Dr. Abernathy conducted a web conference with many students. It seemed to be very informative as Dr. Abernathy was talking a lot about the graduation that will take place in May, as well as what needs to be done to get prepared for that. Then something that Dr. Abernathy asked everyone was, "what is the difference between Web 1.0 and 2.0?" I honestly did not know the answer to the question because I have only really experienced a Web 2.0 interface. I was informed that Web 1.0 is a ready only platform, whereas Web 2.0 is very interactive in which people participate in. She said that every person is valued and is able to contribute with this. Blogs, tweets, Facebook, etc. are all prime examples of this. Web 2.0 is also another great way to get our students involved in the classroom. We will have a question that asks us how we plan on implementing Web 2.0 tools into our campus and how we will make sure we maintain that with our staff. This will be a good way for us to reflect as future principals.
